Windsor Golf Hotel & Country Club, 6.7 km
Windsor is the anchor for anyone golfing in this part of Nairobi. The course sits on Kigwa Lane in Ridgeways, off Kiambu Road, and is an 18-hole par 72 running to roughly 7,772 yards, which makes it one of the longest layouts in Kenya. Multiple tees mean the yardage can be matched to your game rather than the card. There is a practice range, a resident professional, caddies and a pro shop, and the club also keeps tennis and squash courts, a spa and a heated pool.
Playing as a visitor
Visitors are welcome every day, but two conditions apply consistently: book in advance, and bring a valid handicap certificate or card. Published green fees for visitors are in the region of KSh 7,500 on weekdays and KSh 10,000 at weekends, dropping to about KSh 4,000 either way when you play as the guest of a member. Tuition is available, roughly KSh 2,800 for guided practice on the range, and KSh 5,000 for six holes or KSh 7,500 for nine with a pro on the course.
Muthaiga Golf Club, 12.6 km
One of the oldest and most established clubs in the country, in Muthaiga, and a regular host of championship golf in Kenya. It is a members’ club in the traditional sense, so visitor access generally runs through a member or a formal introduction rather than turning up. Worth arranging in advance if you have the connection.
Ruiru Sports Club, 18.0 km
Straight up Thika Road, on the far side of Ruiru. A less formal club than the two above, with a golf course among other sporting facilities, and a straightforward option for a round without ceremony.
Sigona Golf Club, 33.5 km
West of the city near Kikuyu, on the Nairobi–Naivasha road. Further out, call it a full day rather than a morning, but a well-regarded parkland course and a proper outing if you have the time.

- Bring your handicap certificate, it is asked for, not waved through.
- Clubs can usually be hired, but confirm when you book rather than on the day.
- Early tee times avoid both the heat and the worst of the traffic getting there.
